Cataract formation is most commonly a byproduct of an inherited genetic disorder that causes other health problems such as diabetes. However it can develop through infectious diseases or trauma.
This condition is often mistaken for nuclear sclerosis which is a normal change for ageing dogs. An indicator of cataract is white, opaque looking eyes or white spots on your dog’s eye.
